The Opportunity
As our first mobile-focused hire, you'll spearhead the development of applications that not only support our hardware sales but also create new revenue opportunities through white-label offerings and future consumer applications. You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, creating intuitive experiences that process real-time data from our innovative devices.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you'll:
• Write and ship production code across our mobile apps and SDK.
• Implement robust Bluetooth communication between our apps and hardware.
• Build automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines that ensure reliable releases.
• Establish clean architectural patterns through practical refactoring.
• Support B2B partners with SDK integration, including code examples and troubleshooting, and with white-label and bespoke app development.
• Help grow our mobile team, including mentoring a junior engineer in 2026
By succeeding in this role you’ll be helping Olympic sailors to optimise performance, gym goers to improve their health, increase safety and confidence for people working at height and many more. Along the way that will drive revenue for Cyclops both in software sales and in support of sensor sales.
Technical Requirements
Must Have:
• 5-8 years software engineering experience (3+ years industrial).
• Strong mobile development background in either Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android.
• Expertise in mobile architecture patterns, testing, and CI/CD.
• A-level Maths and Physics.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Nice to Have:
• Cross-platform mobile development experience.
• BLE communication background.
• SDK development experience.
• Experience with Firebase or similar backend services.
• Track record of building consumer-grade UX.
