About the Branch
The Corporate Branch is responsible for enabling services that support the agency deliver on its purpose and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the agency.

The Branch facilitates the agency’s compliance with legislation as a non-corporate Commonwealth entity. The volume of legislation which informs this work is significant including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, Public Service Act 1999, Work Health & Safety Act 2011, and Fair Work Act 2009 to name a few. In addition, there are numerous rules, instruments, policies and frameworks that build on legislation which is applicable to the agency.

The Branch delivers services across the disciplines of communications, stakeholder engagement, human resources, finance, procurement, planning, performance & parliamentary services, facilities management and security.

About the Section
The Communications section delivers cohesive, user focused communications that support agency priorities. We bring together external and internal communications, content creation, a creative studio and web and channel management, to produce impactful and accessible information.

Working closely with all areas of the agency and informed by data and research, we translate goals into practical strategies and high-quality outputs across our communication channels. The purpose and objectives of the section are to:

deliver strategic, clear, consistent, accessible communication that builds trust and supports the agency’s objectives and priorities
provide a centralised, integrated service across content, design, website and channel management which is coordinated through business partnering and scheduling to ensure seamless delivery
align communications with standards, manage risk and emerging issues, create user-focused and user informed content and digital experiences, optimise resources and continuously improve through data-driven insights
partner with business areas to develop integrated briefs and plans and report on outcomes for continuous improvement
design and publish brand-consistent, accessible content and creative assets that make complex information clear and engaging
maintain governance for websites and channels, refine user experience and information architecture, and implement improvements based on performance data and feedback.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Multimedia Production Officer to bring our stories to life through video, animation, photography and digital content.

In this key creative and technical role, you will work closely with the communications section and internal business areas to support delivery of the agency’s communications priorities.

From concept to delivery, you’ll create compelling videos, animation, motion graphics and photography, as well as supporting live streams, to inform, educate and inspire audiences internally and externally.

The role is a good mix of autonomy and collaboration, with the opportunity to apply your strong technical abilities, creative direction and effective project management skills to translate complex, technical information into engaging and accessible digital content.

The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on specialist, comfortable working on multiple projects at a time and tailoring content to suit different channels and audiences, while operating within brand, governance and public-sector frameworks.

Role Responsibilities and Duties
Under limited direction, the Senior Multimedia Production Officer will:

Plan, coordinate and deliver the end-to-end workflows for multimedia products including video production, motion graphics, animation, social media, webinars, photography, internal messaging and event filming.
Lead pre-production activities such as concept development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, project scoping and risk assessment.
Manage production activities including filming, recording, interviewing and capturing b-roll footage.
Lead post-production tasks, including editing, motion graphics, animation, and sound design to produce high-quality products.
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within agreed deadlines, budgets, approvals and stakeholder requirements.
Support internal meetings by filming and editing events.
Create and apply templates in post-production for social media cuts and webinar presentations to ensure external products meet industry-standards and branding guidelines.
Write clear, compelling copy to support multimedia materials and other communication activities where required.
Build collaborative relationships and proactively work with subject matter experts across the agency to craft content that effectively communicates the CER’s priorities.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in multimedia production, recommending improvements to creative approaches.
Ensure compliance with agency policies, copyright requirements, and privacy obligations for all multimedia products.
Maintain the CER's multimedia asset library, supporting proper cataloguing, storage, and access to production files for reuse.
Maintain and manage multimedia production equipment and software, ensuring tools are operational and ready for use.
Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of production processes, tools, and procedures.
Participate in team meetings and workshops to support knowledge-sharing and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
Upskill team members to support delivery of professional video, social media and webinar products.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
The ideal candidate will:

Have 3-5 years professional experience in television broadcast, video production or multimedia production.
Have relevant tertiary qualifications in multimedia production, digital media, communications, or a related discipline.
Be available to undertake occasional travel to filming locations across Australia and work outside standard business hours to accommodate travel and filming requirements.
