Job Description
We are looking for a Node.js developer with 3+ years of experience who will be responsible for writing and maintaining the server side code of the core platform of one of our customer projects along with 3rd party integrations. Your primary focus will be the development of the server side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database and the integrations framework, and ensuring high performance, accuracy and scheduling of these integrations. You will also need to be able to integrate with cloud services like AWS and have a sound understanding of cloud architecture in general. We work in an agile environment and understanding the basics of agile development are a must.
Responsibilities
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Storage management with Mongodb, AWS S3 and AWS Secrets Manager
• Write integrations with 3rd party REST/SOAP APIs using RxJS and PassportJS via OAuth2.0 and/or key based authentication strategies
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Working with a team of developers to review their solution design and code
• Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning with a team of developers and managers
Skills
• The ability to problem-solve.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript and Typescript with deep understanding of Object Oriented design with Typescript and Javascript
• Deep knowledge of Node.js and Express, along with a good understanding of middlewares. Knowledge of validation libraries like Celebrate and Joi are good to have.
• Deep understanding of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments. Prior experience with Passportjs and OAuth 2.0 is must have
• Good understanding of the nature of functional, asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds. Understanding of the principles of reactive programming and prior experience with RxjS is good to have.
• Strong proficiency in Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests. Prior experience in Jest is good to have.
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Strong proficiency with MongoDB and Mongoose, Mongo Aggregation Pipelines and MongoDB performance considerations. Understanding of Mongo Atlas Search is good to have.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git and good understanding of branching and deployment strategies.
• Good understanding of Agile Methodologies of Sprint Planning and Scrum
• Strong communication and collaboration in a distributed team environment is a must have
