Responsibilities

• Lead creation of overall strategy for enterprise level database policies, SOP, and BC plans
• Execute ticket triage, investigation, and resolution of reported incidents.
• Responsible for execution of day-to-day tasks related to monitoring and managing moderately complex database systems and infrastructure to ensure service availability and data security.
• Monitor and configure systems resources (memory, disks space & CPU utilization)
• Manage and perform database server software patches and updates.
• Improve customer experience with performance tuning and database optimization.
• Create, document and train partners on database administration SOPs.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents in support of production systems.
• Performs root cause analysis on trended database incidents and major outages up through the application stack.
• Develops automation that can trigger off a variety of industry standard tools to resolve common issues in the environment or maintain operating levels.
• Work closely with application architects and developers throughout product development SDLC to implement best practices, proper types of file organization, indexing methods, security measures and others.
• Lead the design of a scalable management of an enterprise database environment including high availability deployment, pluggable databases, encryption and more.
• Lead the creation and the implementation of BC plans, including but not limited to, backup, restore and data retention policies and procedures.
• Lead database capacity planning and budgetary exercises
• Mentor other DBAs on staff. Qualifications To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Qualifications include:
• 4+ years’ experience as Oracle DBA
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent degree
• Expert knowledge in database structures, including but not limited to tables, indexes, procedures, trigger, etc.
• Expert knowledge in SQL query statements
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong working knowledge of RDBMS
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate desired
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager desired
• Good working knowledge of Shell Scripting, Batch Scripting, or Perl Scripting
• Good working knowledge with Linux and Windows • Good working knowledge on N tier, multi and single tenant applications
• Good working knowledge with Logical Modeling, Physical Modeling, Relational Modeling, ER Diagrams, Entities, Attributes, Cardinality SQL Stored procedures, Functions, Views and triggers
• Good working knowledge with the functionality of business continuity, disaster recovery, Virtualization, and CRM products
• Good working knowledge with database replication and high availability
• Good working knowledge with compute infrastructure changes such as upgrading RAM, creating, mounting and resizing disk drives, etc.
• Good working knowledge with data warehouses and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
• Good working knowledge with Cloud providers and their associated database services, such as AWS, AWS RDS, Azure, Rackspace, a plus
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering a plus
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery a plus
• Experience with web analytic technologies a plus
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
