Our client is looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to aassist with maintaining existing Oracle database infrastructure and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements
Requirements
-Available for in-person client interview
-Experience with the installation, maintenance and support of Recovery Manager (RMAN) backed Oracle 11g/12c databases on Unix and/or Window servers
-Monitoring and management of highly available critical database applications using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Automatic Workload Repository (AWR)
-Extensive experience reviewing performance data with the required skills to analyze data and make recommendations with minimal knowledge of the application
-Participation in multi-team projects, reviewing business requirements to refine a technical solution that satisfies the business area’s requirements for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
-Experience evaluating upgrade paths for new versions or releases, assessing impact, testing, scheduling, communication, coordination with impacted business areas and execution of the implementation plan.
-Experience with automation of database maintenance tasks.
-Excellent verbal communication skills.
-Good written communication skills. Potential candidate will provide a writing sample in response to a proposed scenario during the interview.
-Experience supporting Oracle databases larger than 90GB in size with over 100 concurrent users. (Must provide size and number of users of claimed projects)
-Prior experience researching, testing and implementation of new technologies to solution business requirements.
-Prior experience working with the Oracle support.
-Experience functioning as a member of DBA team in an environment of similar size and complexity as large enterprise mentoring team members.
-Experience using a shared repository to set up and maintain operational area documentation.
-Familiarity with other third-party monitoring tools like Nagios, Foglight, etc.
Qualifications
Education
4 years of I.T. related University Degree, NAIT or SAIT IT Diploma or equivalent, and/or IT Diploma or equivalent
