About the role
Join our dynamic pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant (AHA2) position, where your classification will be based on your skills and experience. This role offers a supportive environment with a clear pathway for development and progression, underpinned by formal training and practical experience.
At the AHA2 level, you will take on increased responsibility by dispensing and distributing medications, packaging pharmaceuticals, managing inventory, providing technical training to staff, and organising daily workloads. You will also assist with ordering and/or preparing pharmaceuticals, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of pharmacy services.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Eligibility through experience as an AHA1 in SA Pharmacy or a relevant Certificate III/IV qualification in pharmacy, project management or business.
Ability to learn new skills under supervision, work independently or in a team, and apply sound organisational skills with attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in data entry, sound arithmetic, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy, with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software and solid technical/manual dexterity.
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, PBS, and a clear understanding of confidentiality and ethical pharmacy practice.
