The person will need to support entire Hadoop estate Production and DR Hadoop environments through lifecycle. This role is required to be part of Service Operations team and is required to work in shifts. What will you be doing • * Managing /leading a 24*7 DW (Hadoop) support team of the vast and complicated Hadoop estate • Ownership of technical resolution for high severity production incidents (Sev 3 high, Sev 2 and Sev1) • Adherence to Barclays standards for change control, database security and database patterns, adhering to bank s governance and control procedures. • Provide on-call rota support where required • Lead and define database delivery requirements for Service Improvement Unit initiatives • Able to clearly communicate complex technical issues to a wide audience. • Analysis of re-occurring incidents and identify service improvements where possible. • Be an effective, proactive team member, influencing the behaviour of colleagues internally and across Infrastructure Services What We re Looking For • * Ready to work in Production Operations • Real time, hands-on experience in Cloudera Hadoop administration • Expertise in Hive and Impala • Working experience in Hadoop Security (TLS Encryption) • Working experience in Kerberos + AD • Strong Unix Background • Clear understanding of Networks and Firewalls • Working Experience in Cloudera distribution Hadoop(CDH) is must Skills that will help you in the role: • Working experience with Spark,Solr,Hbase and Kafka are preferred • Cluster Performance tuning • Experience with Monitoring tools like Ganglia, Splunk and Nagios. • Experience in automation tools Chef + Scripting are preferred.
