Were seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Hosting Platform Team at IAG. This role requires strong platform engineering, cloud, and DevOps capabilities to support the continued evolution of our cloud hosting platforms. Youll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining cloud native solutions, while enabling the organisations transition from on premise infrastructure to modern cloud platforms.
This role sits within the Engineering Excellence team and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands on delivery across infrastructure, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines in an agile, enterprise environment.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
What Youll Do
Provide senior handson contribution to the design, build, and evolution of cloud hosting platforms supporting largescale migration from onpremise environments to cloud platforms (GCP& AWS)
Apply platform engineering standards, patterns, and Infrastructure as Code practices to deliver secure, scalable, and repeatable cloud environments
Build, operate, and support container platforms and cloudnative services (including AWS, GKE and Cloud Run) used by multiple application teams
Provide technical leadership during migration initiatives by contributing to architecture decisions, resolving complex platform challenges, and supporting teams adopting cloud platforms
Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and platform tooling to support reliable and consistent delivery
Take ownership of platform stability and operational outcomes, including incident resolution, rootcause analysis, and continuous improvement activities
Maintain clear technical documentation while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and safetyfocused team environment
What Youll Bring
Hands on cloud engineering experience across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) within enterprise environments (GKE, Google Cloud Run preferred)
Strong experience supporting largescale cloud migrations from onpremise environments, including application refactoring and modernisation for cloud platforms
Proficiency with containerisation and Kubernetes across AWS and Google Cloud, with preference for GKE and Cloud Run
Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Strong DevOps and CI/CD capability using GitHub and GitHub Actions
Experience working in agile, continuous delivery environments, supporting reliable and scalable cloud native solutions
Demonstrated technical leadership within cloud hosting platforms, influencing design decisions and supporting teams through complex migration and platform challenges
