About the Business Unit:
Civil and Enforcement Services (CES) is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety's Justice Service and Regulation group. CES is responsible for managing the end-to-end infringement system in Victoria.
About the Role:
The Senior Prison Program Officer manages written requests from prisoners seeking the Director, Fines Victoria and/or Sheriff, apply to the Magistrates' Court for an order for time to be served in default of payment for outstanding infringement fines and warrants
Some of your duties will include:
Performing administrative and other functions as required by the Fines Reform Act 2014 and Sentencing Act 1991 and other legislation relating to the day-to-day operations of the Prison Program team
Accurately preparing, processing, and providing prisoners with ‘request' forms and any other relevant documentation
Accurately preparing and lodging applications for prisoners on behalf of the Director, Fines Victoria and Sheriff of Victoria with the courts and ensure court orders are accurately recorded in the relevant databases

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
An understanding of the legislation applicable to the delivery of the Prison Program, specifically the Fines Reform Act 2014, Sentencing Act 1991 or experience operating within a legislative framework
The ability to build a supportive and cooperative team environment while engaging other teams to share information in order to understand or respond to issues.
The ability to seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate
