Senior Process Engineering Leader

Join our team as a Senior Process Engineering Leader, where you will play a crucial role in spearheading innovations in molded epoxy manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Manager of Advanced Molding Technology, you will be at the forefront of enhancing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics while transforming our molding processes into world-class standards in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of Process Engineers, ensuring effective organization and planning of tasks/projects with clear deliverables and timelines.
• Engage in ongoing process improvements by directing problem-solving initiatives within epoxy molding, including failure analysis and fatigue testing.
• Innovate and implement sustainable process methodologies while emphasizing mistake-proofing techniques.
• Drive the advancement of processing techniques that align with our strategic growth and cost-saving goals, including overseeing R&D for new equipment and policies.
• Enhance manufacturing processes by reviewing engineering deliverables for technical precision and compliance with industry standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through data collection systems, optimizing business intelligence and analytics frameworks.
• Establish effective process controls and train personnel for their optimal application, identifying critical characteristics for monitoring.
• Conduct comprehensive process audits in collaboration with Quality and Molding departments.
• Recruit, train, and mentor engineering talent, ensuring team performance aligns with departmental goals and metrics.
• Prepare reports, approve expenditures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Leverage deep knowledge of thermoset polymers to aid in new product development and feasibility assessments.
• Mentor the team in structured problem-solving techniques, utilizing tools such as Design of Experiments and statistical analysis.
• Lead projects while managing scope, schedule, cost, risks, resources, and changes effectively.
• Track and manage key performance indicators to measure project success.
• Partner with the Molding Technology Lab and Innovation Center to elevate our manufacturing capabilities.

Leadership Expectations:

As a leader, you will strategize and allocate resources to fulfill project requirements while employing robust planning, control, monitoring, and review techniques. You will oversee daily operations of the Process Engineering team, managing a group of 4–8 engineers.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of applicable experience and 2 to 5+ years in project management and leadership.
• Proficiency in executing Design of Experiments and A/B testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with molding two-component liquid thermoset plastics and related processes, such as silicone molding.
• Familiarity with liquid gelation molding and dispensing systems.
• Understanding of fluid dispensing and centralized material delivery systems operated by control software.
• Deep knowledge of polymer rheology and relevant testing methods, including DSC, TGA, Goniometry, and DMA.
• Proficient in CAD, Pro-E, and polymer flow simulation software, with experience running simulations for material characterizations.
• Able to execute advanced failure analysis techniques.
• Computer proficient with strong data analysis skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, particularly within root cause analysis contexts.
• Experience in nurturing and developing team members.
• Proven examples of successful product integration and operational improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Plastics/Polymer Processing or related field with a focus on automated pressure gelation molding.
• Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving certification.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration across various organizational levels.
• Experience with polymer material rheology and flow simulations.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
• General Factory Environment (~50%)
• Office Environment, PC use (~50%)
• Light lifting (occasionally up to 25 lbs)
• Standing and walking as needed

Benefits:

We offer competitive pay ranging from $98,872 to $128,577 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
