The Chief Operations Office keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession.
We process and execute the majority of all processes across the Bank supporting the Retail, Business, CommSec, Institutional businesses with banking, lending and markets operations, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.
You will be part of the Platform Delivery Crew in the Financial Crime Domain working on the Sirius product which has been designed to revolutionize the way we manage financial crime investigations. Our crew purpose is to develop an efficient, secure, and user-friendly case management product that strengthens our ability to eliminate financial crime while fostering the growth of a highly skilled workforce.

As the Senior Product Owner, you will collaborate with other value-chain, product and technical squads and business stakeholders to define and implement the short and long-term priorities that will ensure we achieve our strategic ambitions. The Senior Product Owner will lead the squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities. They will drive a quarterly prioritisation process for their squad, manage a backlog of initiatives and define metrics and outcomes that align to our strategy.
You will be leading a team with the full spectrum of data delivery capabilities, through to analytics, insights, and reporting. You will be accountable for end-to-end ownership from strategy, planning and through to execution. You are strategic, analytical and a forward-thinking creative problem solver, highly capable of driving through ambiguity - you’ll constantly identify and execute solutions to challenges/opportunities.
Specifically you will:
Work with the crew to understand both requirements on data delivery and business insights, to set and implement the strategic direction for the data strategy, along with overseeing execution.
Manage a mix of internal and external stakeholders, with stakeholders across Domains and/or Business Units or Support Units.
Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary squad of data delivery and analytical professionals, creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable, and high-performance culture
Define and deliver the squad’s roadmap, vision, and KPIs and manage the squad’s performance to defined OKR’s
Lead delivery team members and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of strategic initiatives
Be accountable for end-to-end delivery (including managing requirements lifecycle, production deployment, and release day coordination and sign-off)
Act as the voice of the customer and business and translate this for the squad.
Apply expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to successfully achieve business and customer outcomes.
Drive product exploration (using design thinking and analytics) and formulate hypotheses to validate product strategy / design
Ensure all obligations across customer, regulatory, internal policy and process frameworks (such as PACE and CMRS) are fully met and satisfied
Identify, articulate and manage risks, dependencies and compliance across streams of work e.g. customer propositions
Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity i.e. sprint burn down, release burn up, and squad/team health in partnership with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads
Advocate and contribute to best practices and share learnings with the Product Owner community within CBA, including mentoring Product Owners and squad members, and challenging and influencing stakeholders across the Crew.
Define product vision, goals and roadmap, aligned to Crew objectives and purpose, and engage with key stakeholders to manage its delivery.

Experience in working in a financial services environment or a similar multifaceted organisation
Advanced problem-solving capability
Exposure to financial crime (AML/CTF, Transaction monitoring, ECDD, Customer screening/LEA, offboarding)
Experience in working on multiple squads of work/projects (including multi-year) simultaneously
Experience in Human Centred Design and User experience
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to solve complex problems and recommend intuitive solutions.
