Job Title: Engineer/Sr. Engineer/Manager – Project Management
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Industry: Automotive Components Manufacturing
Reports to: Project Head
Qualification – BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Project Management
Experience – 4-10 Years in Project Management within the automotive components manufacturing industry.
Prior experience in automotive engineering or component design is highly desirable.
CTC Budget – up to 10 LPA
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
RFQ Management:
Receive and review RFQ requests from customers or sales teams.
Analyze the technical specifications and requirements of RFQs for automotive components.
Liaise with internal departments such as engineering, production, and purchasing to gather the necessary data for quotations.
Prepare and submit detailed quotations for automotive components, ensuring competitive pricing and accurate lead times.
Cost Estimation & Pricing:
Work closely with engineering teams to understand product design and manufacturing costs.
Provide accurate cost estimation for materials, labor, tooling, and overheads.
Benchmark pricing against competitors and industry standards to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Coordinate with the sales team to ensure that customer requirements are understood and met.
Maintain strong communication with production and procurement teams to ensure that quoted lead times and capabilities align with production schedules.
Support customers with technical queries related to the quotation process.
Project Planning & Execution:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of automotive components projects from concept through to completion.
Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while meeting quality standards.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work closely with design, manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and delivery of components.
Technical Support & Problem Solving:
Provide technical expertise to resolve design or manufacturing issues during the project lifecycle.
Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed project documentation, including design changes, progress reports, and technical specifications.
Prepare regular updates and reports for stakeholders on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Required Technical Skills:
Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.) and other engineering tools.
Sound knowledge of automotive components, manufacturing processes, and materials.
Required Soft Skills:
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel occasionally to supplier locations or other manufacturing plants if required.
Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality systems such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 is a plus.
