About the role
InfraBuild Manufacturing are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team at the Sydney Steel Mill (Rooty Hill), leading the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects within a heavy industry environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership from concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.


You will have a Mechanical or Electrical background and work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping project outcomes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture.


In this role, you will:

Lead the planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of assigned projects
Take a proactive role in the preparation of proposals and project strategies
Ensure clear alignment with client and stakeholder objectives, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations
Deliver projects that achieve or outperform cost and schedule targets
Provide strong HSE leadership, embedding safe systems of work and contractor management practices
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to optimise delivery outcomes
Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times and lower costs
Contribute to the modernisation of engineering systems and processes
Mentor and support team members, helping to build capability and drive operational excellence

You’re a driven and capable Project Manager with a strong technical foundation and a track record of delivering results in complex industrial environments. You bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.


You will ideally bring:

A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in project management, ideally within heavy industry or manufacturing
Demonstrated experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
Strong knowledge of tendering, procurement and project delivery processes
A commitment to safety as a core value, with a solid understanding of legislative HSE requirements
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and competing priorities


In addition, you will have:

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset
Experience with SAP and Microsoft tools (or similar systems)
The ability to adapt project management approaches to suit different project needs and deliver the best outcomes**
