Employment type: Temporary full-time role for 6 months with the possibility of an extension

Salary: $120,85+.00 pa - $133,183.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading


Your role


Systems, Funding and Cards (SFC), Partnerships, aims to support the delivery of Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) programs and priorities through the accurate administration and support of funding, grants, asset management and reporting systems as well as contract custodianship, minimising risk to service delivery and keeping service providers accountable.


The CBP team administers the Community Building Partnership (CBP) Program, a statewide electorate-based infrastructure and equipment grants program, eligible to incorporated not-for-profit community groups and local councils. We are a busy team working in a high-volume environment, with approximately 3,000 applications processed and 1,500 successful grants managed annually.


The Senior Policy and Project Officer (Grants) supports grant applicants and recipients with advice regarding the CBP grant program. This includes technical support on use of the OneGMS grant management platform. The SPPO (Grants) also provides support and advice to applicants and CBP Project Officers on all aspects of the application process, and the end-to-end delivery and completion of funded projects, including contract finalisation, acquittals, and payment processing in the PACS payments system, leading on related projects and policy development.


What you’ll do


Support grant applicants and recipients with accurate completion of all program documentation, in line with program guidelines and approved Funding Deeds.
Communicate and liaise with key stakeholders to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion.
Plan, manage and implement research activities, program reforms, and evaluation projects as allocated by the Manager.
Provide high-level advice on grant design and compliance with the NSW Grants Administration Guide.
Provide high-level advice on grant management, legislation, ICT systems and business process via briefing notes, cabinet minutes and correspondence.
Support key stakeholders on the design of grant programs, assessment processes, grant agreements and payment processes through One GMS.
Effectively liaise and consult with non-government community organisations and government agencies.
Effectively manage grant processes and grant funding agreements for the delivery of projects/service to the community.
Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks of grant programs.
What we’re looking for


Successful candidates will be flexible and proactive, with a strong commitment to quality customer service. As a team player, they will also be:


A problem solver with a can-do attitude.
A minimum of intermediate Excel skills would be an advantage.
Grant management experience and a working understanding of the SmartyGrants/OneGMS platform will be highly desirable.
Demonstrated project experience in delivery of grant programs and managing reforms.
Demonstrated experience in providing high level policy advice, including recommendations for policy and program changes to ensure compliance with the NSW Grant Administration Guide.
