About the role:
Victoria Police is seeking an experienced and proactive Contract Manager to lead the procurement, delivery, and ongoing administration of facility services contracts across our statewide property portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring our facilities are safe, functional, and well‑maintained for the people who serve our community every day.
As the Contract Manager, you will oversee key service providers, ensure contractual compliance, drive performance improvements, and partner closely with Facility Managers to deliver high‑quality services, cost efficiencies, and strong customer outcomes.
This role reports to the Manager, Facility Services, within the Digital and Infrastructure Services Division — a modern, agile, and flexible workplace committed to customer centricity, innovation, and collaborative delivery.
Your duties will include:
Developing a strong understanding of our customers — the people who use and rely on our facilities.
Shaping and improving service delivery, including defining required service types, quality, costs, and performance measures.
Establishing clear Service Principles across all service domains.
Leading the preparation of specifications, procurement documentation, and contracts that align to these principles.
Monitoring supplier performance, analysing data, and managing contract variations where required.
Overseeing governance, compliance, and reporting, including preparing clear and high‑quality briefings for executive leadership and funding bodies.
Identifying and mitigating operational and commercial risks.
Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, legislation, and audit requirements.
Building strong engagement with internal stakeholders, contractors, and industry partners to drive high‑quality outcomes.
Contributing to a positive, collaborative, and improvement‑focused team environment.
About You:
You are an organised, commercially astute contract professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with diverse stakeholders. You bring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving:
Ideally, you will have:
Demonstrated experience managing service, maintenance, or facility‑related contracts.
Solid knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑build ing skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks effectively.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
Tertiary qualifications and relevant accreditations in construction, facilities management, or project management.
A current driver licence to attend site visits.
Commitment to supporting the Division's strategic goals — focusing on people, customer centricity, innovation, and collaboration.
Further Information:
One (1) x full-time, ongoing position.
This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands, and will require site visits.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
