Working alongside Main Roads WA and the Public Transport Authority as part of the Transport Portfolio, DTMI helps shape a transport system that is safe, efficient, sustainable and future‑focused.

The Urban Mobility Directorate leads the development of integrated transport strategy, policy and planning to optimise how people move through cities and major centres. The team works on complex, state‑significant initiatives that balance growth, accessibility, sustainability and liveability, helping ensure Western Australia’s transport network meets both current and future needs.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward‑thinking directorate that values strong ideas, practical solutions and shared purpose.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced transport or urban planning professional where you’ll help shape how people move through Western Australia’s cities and major centres.

As a Senior Project Officer - Transport Planner, you’ll lead and contribute to the delivery of integrated transport planning projects that balance growth, accessibility, sustainability and liveability. Working across strategy, policy and project delivery, you’ll manage complex planning initiatives, provide expert advice, and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical, evidence‑based transport solutions.

This role suits a motivated professional who enjoys leading projects, influencing outcomes and working in a collaborative environment where your work has visible, long‑term impact on communities. You’ll be supported to apply your expertise, develop professionally, and contribute to state‑significant outcomes aligned with DTMI’s strategic priorities.
