Job Description- Purchase Manager
• Communicating with Merchandiser & other department personnel regularly, to assess purchase needs.
• New vendor development, maintaining vendor records & vendor selection (obtaining actions, negotiations & preparing vendor comparison statements).
• PO management - Generating POs where required, tracking PO performance & maintaining purchase records.
• Communicating with Projects to confirm product delivery, installation & quality check.
• Approving vendor bills and processing vendor payments.
• Keep Minimum Stock and do material planning accordingly.
• Global Purchasing exposure in relevant segment.
• Export & Import purchasing experience.
• Arrange for disposal of Dead Stock materials.
• Administer on-line purchasing systems (By mail or other etc.)
• Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
• Review, evaluate, and approve specifications as per requirement.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Control purchasing department budgets.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
