Job Description
The project includes the development of an industry-leading asset management platform for one of the biggest investment companies in the world. This analytics platform is a distributed solution that handles large volumes of time series data for processing, analysis, and exposing them to other applications through APIs. The solution leverages Kafka for message streaming. The primary focus of the development team is on the high performance of data processing, system scalability, and data consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work with subject matter experts and researchers, build robust research and production pipeline for data and modeling process
• Ensure product quality
• Process automation
• Communicate across multiple partner teams on project planning and delivery
• Quantitative model implementation and deployment
Qualifications
• Degree in computer science, statistics, machine learning, applied mathematics, operation research or other quantitative disciplines; graduate degree and research experience are preferred
• 4 years of professional experience in a software engineering or machine learning operations team
• Working experience in at least one software engineering language (C++/Java/Go) and Python
• Working experience with Unix-like operating system and shell scripting
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL database, large datasets; experience with unstructured data is a plus
• Able to communicate and collaborate effectively in a diverse team environment
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt
• Passionate about sustainability issues and asset management industry
• Experience in climate science, energy system modeling, climate policy or energy policy is a plus
• Experience with financial and economic research and quantitative modeling is a plus
• Experience with statistics, machine learning, deep learning and NLP is a plus
• Experience with cloud platform and Cloud Native technology is a plus
