You will be primarily responsible for building and maintaining our TV apps across several TV platforms (like Android TV, Tizen OS, and WebOS) using native technologies.What Does the Job EntailFeature Development: Develop and deploy features in our TV app codebase that enhance user experience and drive both revenue and profitability for the business.Collaborative Innovation: Collaborate closely with our product, design, and data teams to build innovative features and deliver a world-class product to our customers. We all collaborate on solving problems for our customers and the business, with engineering playing a significant role.Scalable Platform Design: Design scalable platforms that empower our product and marketing teams to rapidly experiment.Quality Assurance: Own the quality of our products by writing automated tests, reviewing code, making systems observable, and resilient to failures.Engineering Culture: Set the engineering culture with the rest of the team by defining how we should work as a team, setting standards for quality, and improving the speed of engineering execution.Continuous Learning: Research and apply new technologies, techniques, and best practices to improve development efficiency and product capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and ship features in our TV app codebase that directly impact user experience and business metrics.Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to build innovative features and deliver a world-class product.Design scalable platforms that allow rapid experimentation.Ensure product quality through automated testing, code reviews, and resilient system design.Help define and maintain the engineering culture and standards within the team.Stay current with new technologies and best practices, and apply them to improve the product and engineering processes.Who Are We Looking ForTechnical Expertise: Deep knowledge of TV app development using Kotlin for Android.Bonus: Experience in developing mobile apps for Android Mobile, webOS, or Tizen OS.Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.Experience: 1-4 years of experience building TV applications using the mentioned platforms.Quality Focus: Experienced in writing automated tests, including integration tests, to ensure application quality.Architecture and Scalability: Care deeply about code quality, software architecture (e.g., Object-Oriented Programming, Clean Code), scalability, and reliability.Bonus: Demonstrated experience in these areas from past roles.Startup Mentality: Understand the importance of shipping fast in a startup environment and constantly try to find ingenious ways to achieve this.Collaboration: Collaborate well with everyone on the team, communicating frequently and seeking quick feedback from other members.Technological Versatility: Don't hesitate to try out new technologies.
