Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a talented and driven Senior Roadway Project Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our dynamic team. This exciting opportunity involves designing and managing roadway projects while ensuring adherence to state and local standards. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding infrastructure solutions. Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in roadway design, project management, and have experience with transportation projects, including a strong familiarity with DOT requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Roadway Design: Create innovative roadway designs and layouts utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., InRoads, ORD, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D) in compliance with state and local guidelines.
• Project Management: Lead roadway projects from inception to completion, ensuring timeliness, budget adherence, and fulfilling client expectations.
• Plan Preparation: Develop comprehensive construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Coordination & Collaboration: Engage with other engineering disciplines, including traffic, structural, and drainage teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Client Interaction: Foster strong client relations by understanding their requirements and providing effective engineering solutions.
• Compliance: Ensure all projects meet federal, state, and local regulations, with a preference for GDOT standards.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough design reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency across project deliverables.
• Permitting & Approvals: Assist in preparing and submitting permit applications and regulatory approvals.
• Technical Reports: Author technical reports, memos, and other necessary documentation for ongoing projects.
• Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers and technicians to enhance their professional development.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Master's Degree is a plus.
• 5-10 years of roadway engineering experience, particularly focused on transportation infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficient in roadway design software such as MicroStation, InRoads, ORD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with DOT projects (GDOT preferred) and familiarity with applicable design standards.
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for successful client collaboration.
• A detail-oriented mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Experience with intersection improvements, sidewalk enhancements, bridge replacements, and large-scale transportation projects, including highways and urban roadways, is a plus.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering principles as applied in roadway design is an advantage.
