SUMMARY

The Senior SBA Operations Specialist is responsible for various administrative and reporting duties for SBA Lending Division under the supervision of SBA Operations Officer. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations including the U.S. SBA, wherein the company operates.

Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.


REQUIRED DUTIES

1. Prepares and transmits monthly 1502 Reporting for all SBA loans.

2. Coordinates SBA secondary market loan sales

3. Maintains record functions and data input to the loan accounting system.

4. Maintains and produces assigned periodic reports.

5. Prepares loan documents for servicing actions if assigned;

6. Complete other administrative tasks including, but not limited to, document production and printing, photocopying, faxing, scanning, and electronic file transferring.

7. Escalates potential problems to the SBA Operations Officer, SBA Closing Officer to ensure quality customer service and timely closing for the client and the Bank.

8. Conducts post-closing audit quality meets the Bank and SBA standards if assigned.

9. Continues with industry education and educate team on best practices.

10. Works with in-house legal counsel, Bank leasing officers, originators and borrowers regarding issues/problems related to documentation, closing, funding and recording of the loan.

11. Assumes responsibility for various job duties in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

12. Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values.

16. Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

Bachelor’s degree preferred and 5 or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in commercial finance administration and documentation.
Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all Commercial, C & I, or SBA operational and lending activities and terminology.
Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Company operational policies and procedures, and the Company’s products and services.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Company activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate).
Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.

Pay $49,000 - $74,000 per year. The salary reflects the full, reasonably expected salary range for this position. Salary is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates may be eligible for bonus, stock, commissions, and incentives at the Company’s sole discretion. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, which vary depending on the position ultimately offered. All employees are offered paid sick time off.
