Day to Day
Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) at Indeed work directly with our product teams, working closely with them to design, code, test, run, and evolve the systems that help people around the world get jobs. We work closely with dozens of Indeed teams to drive adoption of modern reliability practices like Service Level Objectives (SLOs), error budget policies, actionable alerts, follow-the-sun on-call, incident retrospectives, chaos testing, and end-to-end ownership.
This role focuses on Indeed’s Machine Learning Platform, where we build and serve ML models using Indeed platform and 3rd-party services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) SageMaker. As an SRE working with Indeed’s Machine Learning Platform teams, you will be an integral part in ensuring the platform is built to be highly scalable, resilient, and maintainable, capable of powering a constantly growing set of matching use cases.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, ship, and motivate the creation of scalable software and systems to increase product reliability and organizational efficiency.
Guide reliability practices through the entire software development lifecycle through activities like architecture reviews, code reviews, creating platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and chaos testing.
Maintain service health through monitoring and follow-the-sun incident response.
Improve service reliability through blameless post-incident reviews and using code to prevent or respond to problem recurrence
Collaborate with Engineering teams to balance cloud cost optimization with delivering a high degree of system reliability.
Skills/Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of software development experience.
Experience writing code in Java, Go, Shell, Perl, Python, or a similar language.
Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras (Good to have).
Proven proficiency in Python and/or Node.js and experience with cloud platforms and tools, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Sagemaker
Dedicated interest in SRE topics like SLOs, resilience, scaling, performance, and more.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
