Thomson Reuters is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our Digital Experience Platform team. This challenging position requires someone to think independently, work well collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including working with a variety of technologies stacks (as required). About This Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
• Communicate with product and business teams to gather and analyze the business requirement and translate it into technical design and prepare functional/technical specification documents.
• Research and identify new software technologies that can be leveraged to improve application performance and development efficiency, reducing cost and maintaining quality, working closely with development leads.
• Develop Fullstack, high resilience, low latency information management and processing system in the tax and legal worlds.
• Provide creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation.
• Participate in internal team and status meetings, in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
• Participate in software releases.
• Work together with the your team and other teams to deliver high-grade, performant, well-documented and resilient features.
• Work together with the Quality Assurance team to prepare test plans/test cases and define test execution methodology and perform tests. Identify and fix any defects.
• Work together with the system operation team to ensure system stability and maintain high availability
• Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
• 4+ years software development experience using Java, .NET, JavaScript, Python and other core languages across the technology industry.
• Experience using Agile Methodologies primarily Scrum
• Expert design skills including significant knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work effectively
• Ability to write clean, readable code that is easy to understand
• Expertise using Object Oriented design patterns and software development methodologies
• Able to provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of 5-8 developers and testers.
• Customer first approach to software development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, Business Analysts, management, and business team members)
• Desired Experience:
• Front-end & Server-side programming technologies
• Managing code and changes in a team environment to include experience with source control utilities, such as Git
• Experience with Web technologies, such as: React, Redux, AngularJS, CSS and HTML 5.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager development.
• Leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, setting technical goals, and delegating tasks
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience
• Comfortable leading design discussions in addition to hands-on development
• Working and interacting with a geographically and culturally diverse team
• Mentoring junior developers and translating requirements from business partners
• Experience with XML processing and transformations (XPath, XSLT, etc.)
• Other experience: Tomcat, Hibernate/JPA, UML, .NET
• Cloud technology experience(e.g. AWS, Azure), or Docker
