Otipy is a community-based platform to connect consumers, resellers, and farmers for bringing fresh produce to the doorstep. Founded in 2016, by Varun Khurana, Otipy focuses on on-demand harvesting according to predicted demand, to keep minimum wastage through state-of-the-art technology used for procurement, distribution, and delivery. Otipy sources fresh produce from farmers across Haryana, UP, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

Otipy is India’s first social commerce platform that connects end-consumers to farmers through a community of resellers (mainly women). It is building a scalable, demand-driven, and tech-enabled supply chain for fresh produce that moves farm produce from farm to fork in less than 12 hours giving consumers unparalleled freshness. We closely work with 5000+ resellers across Delhi-NCR and are already serving over 3 Lakh consumers with fresh produce at their doorstep. Otipy sources fresh fruits and vegetables from 10,000 farmers across Haryana, UP, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, and many more. Key Responsibilities & Accountability :

Ownership of feature end to end from all phase of development to production 


Work closely with Sr. Enggs / Managers to ensure success in program delivery


Conduct code reviews of deliverables from your team & ensuring code quality of junior engineers 


Be hands-on coding/debugging if the need arises. We work with Python/Java/Django 


Maintain intense focus on delivering to all committed milestones at the desired quality levels


Must be flexible and creative in thinking to execute a timeline when plans do not go as expected


Requirements :

2.5 Plus years of overall software development experience and at least 6 months experience in python/Django/Flask

Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes - Familiarity with Linux servers (Apache, NGINX)

Experience with task queues and messaging libraries

Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries.Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system

Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments


Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

Strong unit test and debugging skill

Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python, Django OR Flask framework is must. - Good to have experience in other languages like Java/Golang/Nodejs

Having startup experience or from tier1/tier2 institute or from good product company is a big plus.

Qualifications :

Bachelor/ Master degree in computer science from a Tier1/Tier2 institution like (IIT, NIT, IIIT)


Having 3+ years of experience in Backend Development
