What We Are Looking For
Egencia’s Technology organization is looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, self-starter and fast-growing potential individual to be part of a growing team of technologists. You are well versed with SDLC and Agile methodologies. You have 10+ years of experience in software development and troubleshooting. An independent thinker, who works around problems and who isn’t shy of trying new technologies. You have validated experience of working in parallel technologies apart from your core technology area (Java). Prior experience in working harmoniously with cross-geography team will be an added advantage. You should be equally appropriate in development, test, debugging roles and be ready to wear many hats. This team values “fail-fast” learners and technology enthusiasts who view learning new technology as a fun experience.
What You Will Do
• Leads the end-to-end product life cycle for mid to large size projects: Design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational excellence and support.
• Design and implementation of next-generation SaaS using a polyglot of technology.
• You find and advocate for Industry standards and best practices in development methodologies, techniques, and technologies
• You contribute to advancing the team's design methodology and quality programming practices and mentor junior team members to adapt best practices
• Innovate and implement new ideas to solve complex software problems and prototype creative solutions to enable product MVP's
• Independently understand scheduling, cost constraints, and impact to other teams; and make resource and architectural trade-offs based on those factors
• Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks, before they occur, and present technical issues and their impact to leadership
• Lead, coordinate, and collaborate on multiple concurrent and complex organisational initiatives
• Effectively build and maintain a network of key contacts across company, and leverage these contacts to achieve results
• Communicate and work effectively with geographically distributed cross functional teams
• Drive for continuous improvement in software and development process within an agile development team
Who you are: You’ll fit this role if you have:
• BE/BTech/MS/MCA in Computer Science or related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and shipping large scale enterprise e- commerce applications
• Experience working/multitasking in agile development (continuous-delivery model) with an emphasis on TDD or BDD is preferred.
• The applicant should be strong on analytical skills and Problem Solving
• Experience working in a collaborative development team in multiple locations.
• Knowledge and experience on Object-oriented design, performance, scalability tuning, algorithms and computational complexity.
• Ability to write clean, coherent, well-documented code and follow established coding-style guidelines.
• Efficient in verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely
• Strong experience with Java, XML, JSON, JUnit
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks, jQuery, React, NodeJS, QUnit (or JavaScript Unit testing)
• Experience with RESTful Micro Services, Apache Tomcat, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Docker, Gradle, Grunt
• Kafka / Scala / Storm / ElasticSearch / Cassandra
• Solid experience with AWS: EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB
• Relevant industry experience developing in Java and its associated technology stacks. Experience building web services with these platforms desired.
