As a Senior Software Engineer in our Data and Streaming Analytics team, you will be responsible for guiding and leading the architecture, delivery and development of the software systems that power our business unit. As a highly skilled software developer with the experience to both code with and mentor other technical team members to deliver high quality, well-designed software.
You will be embedded in our Airline Technology team that supports the bespoke applications used daily by our digital customers and business operational teams. You’ll be directly involved in all aspects of software development from early in the planning and development lifecycle through to delivery and monitoring.
This role will have you working with key stakeholders across the business, including digital and operational teams, to ensure applications are stable, reliable, and support the airline's safe and efficient operations. You'll solve real-world problems, contribute your expertise, participate in decision-making, and take ownership of the software you create.
You’ll have:
8+ years of experience as a professional software engineer (preferred)
Excellent Java and Springboot development, test and debugging skills
Confidence researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in production environments
Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS Infrastructure
Proven experience in performance optimization and security considerations in cloud-based applications
Proficiency in Linux system administration
Familiarity in system architecture design and decisioning on technology stacks.
Experience implementing comprehensive observability, monitoring and alerting in high availability production environments
Experience integrating with Apache Kafka and Flink an advantage
An approachable attitude to educate, mentor and influence the team
Confidence in balancing both technical and communication skills, with the ability to adjust to your audience
Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack for effective team communication and project management
