Fitch Group Technology has a number of agile teams that deliver world-class innovative solutions to Fitch Group internal and external customers. This position will be within one of our agile teams delivering software products for Rating Data & Research in our Fitch Solutions business.

We’ll Count On You To
Demonstrate proficiency in backend technologies using java, python for enterprise-scale websites and ETL applications.
Work as part of an agile team in design, development, debugging, and deployment efforts while addressing security, cross-browser and cross-platform expectations and concerns.
Understand the importance of design patterns, provide effective translation to code artifacts and implement appropriate integration approach for API/data layer.
Partner with Product Owner and stakeholders to understand business needs, define and develop applications/ architecture, design, review, implement and optimize Engineering processes.
Build data expertise and a deep understanding of business domain knowledge and own data quality for allocated areas of ownership
Maintain and enhance microservices based components for the application suite.
Recommend, create and maintain development best practices and guidelines to be used across various applications.
Write automated unit, integration, performance and visual regression test cases.
Integrate test case execution with the CI/CD pipeline to better align with the DevSecOps strategy.
Promote, implement, and evolve development best practices especially on commits, versioning and dependency management.
What You Need To Have
5+ years of experience designing and developing distributed application architecture of moderate-to-high complexity.
5+ years of experience with Python and Java and associated open-source technologies, such as Spring Boot, Fast API
3+ years of experience in relational (e.g. Oracle/Postgres) and/or in non-relational (e.g. MongoDB) databases
Experience in creating modern applications using Microservices-based architecture and serverless ETL solutions.
Expertise in modern package management, build and test frameworks (e.g. Maven, Gradle for Java, pip, poetry for Python and NPM, Yarn, Webpack, Jest, Enzyme, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, Wraith for JavaScript).
Experience with build and deployment pipelines including Docker and git ops based continuous delivery.
Experience working in high-performance teams using Agile methodologies.
Experience working in teams with a heavy emphasis on Security, Automation and Quality (DevSecOps).
Passion for emerging technologies such as GenAI, Prompt engineering and innovation.
Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
What Would Make You Stand Out
Exposure to native AWS data technologies, ETL, Orchestration and analytics such as AWS Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda, EKS, Glue, EMR Spark, Kafka, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, etc.
Exposure to AWS infrastructure – EC2 instances, S3 storage, Route 53, CloudFront, CloudFormation and Networking (VPC, subnets, security groups) etc. Exposure to containerization and container orchestration and Blue/Green or canary deployments

FOR CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $135,000 and $145,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
