Job Description
The Role: In this role, you will collaborate with manager, team leader, scrum master, data analysts and developers to build technology solutions for Morningstar`s Advisor Client Experience. You should have hands on experience on .Net and .Net Core technologies, JavaScript frameworks like Vue.JS, Node.js, Java and Cloud Platform with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Also, you should have working experience in Component based architectures and create scalable, flexible technical solutions. You would create new components, support existing systems, study their enterprise complexities and develop/implement better systems with modern software development practices. Developing good understanding of existing systems on other platforms and its database is a beginning step.
Responsibilities:
• Building working Prototypes and/or applications using different skills ASP.Net, C#, .Net 4.x and .Net Core, SQL Server, HTML, XML, Vue.JS, JavaScript libraries, Node JS, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Lambdas, S3, DynamoDB and other AWS Components.
• Building web and enterprise solutions to be flexible, scalable & extensible
• Self-Learn and master required skills for Rapid Prototype Building
• Be a full stack engineer working across the scope of the various applications
• Improve complex data flow, data structures and db design to move to next platform
• Work closely with back end developers, front end developers, QA, Infra team and DevOps
• Execute and monitor DevOps steps for assigned product(s)
• Set up and observe performance using tools like New Relic
• Be a Role Model to the team to collaborate on good object-oriented designs & domain modeling. Enforce good agile practices like test driven development, Continuous Integration.
• Hands-on development will be an integral part of the responsibilities.
• Develop areas of continuous and automated deployment.
• Introduce and follow good development practices, innovative frameworks and technology solutions that help business move faster.
• Follow best practices like estimation, planning, reporting and improvement brought to processes in every day work.
Requirements: These are the most important skills, qualities, etc. that we’d like for this role.
• 6 and above years of expert experience in application designing and development in Financial or Capital Market domain
• Hands on experience in Microsoft Technologies like .Net 4.x, .Net Core, ASP.Net, C#, Xml, HTML
• Experience in JavaScript framework/libraries – Vue.js, Node.js, OOJS, HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, Cross Browser Compatibility, Responsive Designs, Single Page Application (SPA)
• Working experience on Cloud platform with AWS Lambdas, S3, DynamoDB, Jenkins
• Working experience with CloudFormation scripts and good hands-on experience with automating the cloud infrastructure creation, DR setup and troubleshooting
• Working experience with pluggable Web Components, CLI tools and using Storybook for Vue based components. Previous working experience with Morningstar Web Components and MWC Tooling will be preferred.
• Experience with writing unit test cases using mocha and jest testing framework
• Experience with Sonar, Splunk, monitoring tools and to be available for on-call support (on weekends as well)
• Working experience on Ops tools like uDeploy, TestRails, VictorOps, AWS Cloudwatch and New Relic
• Experience in Core Java, Java, J2EE, JDBC, working experience on Spring Boot will be plus
• Experience with building REST based APIs, Web Services, Micro Services
• Knowledge of databases and hands on experience in any of one of the following databases - MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Experience on different patterns such as MVC in JavaScript
• Experience in Software Security, static code analysis, preventing vulnerabilities
• Experience in analysis, design, coding and implementation of large-scale, n-tier platforms
• Proven leadership qualities, end-to-end ownership
• Be aware of activity in the open source world. Contributing back to open source is a big plus.
• Participation in full life-cycle system development with teams of developers, analysts, and testers.
• Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing in a product development environment, Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
