We are looking for a motivated Java software engineer. Your main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
• Analysis of customer product requirements
• Specification of the application in co-operation with the customer
• Design and implementation of automotive applications
• Assist in development of Unit Tests on development environment
• Partner closely with customers and other Cerence teams to establish and maintain clear, concise communication through regular reporting, meeting participation, and follow-up
• Contribute to advancing technologies and services by providing input and recommendations from project experience
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high quality
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to define the best deployment and monitoring strategy using Docker, Kubernetes, Graphite, Grafana
• Collaborate with the Documentation Team on official product documentation
• Help troubleshoot and fix production issues.
Education: Bachelor/Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum years of work experience: 5 years of experience
Required skills:
• 5 - 8 years software development experience as a full stack Java developer
• Experience using modern development processes/tools and developing through the complete Software Development Life Cycle
• Proven hands-on experience in Java, Python, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Experience in developing Rest APIs/micro-services using Spring Boot
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Cloud SW development
• Experience and knowledge of DevOps concepts and practices
• Experience with using source control tools like Git and CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins
• Experience working in / Knowledge of Agile/Scrum framework
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems quickly and creatively
• Desire to learn new technologies – MUST HAVE
• Self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sufficient – MUST HAVE
• Strong object-oriented analysis, design, and coding skills
• Experience in SQL, relational databases
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Strong team player and customer focus
• Strong in data structures and algorithms
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Helm, SOLR, NoSQL DBs
• Familiar with the Flask, Django Frameworks
• Familiar with Elastic search
• Familiar with Jira
• Unix/Linux OS and networking knowledge
