Role Summary/Purpose
In this role, you will develop innovative software products and solutions for the Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics (RMD) program as part of App TechX team in Wabtec India. You will be responsible for design and development of customer features, components and/or feature sets. You will be leveraging best practices and processes while demonstrating ability to learn and adapt to technologies and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop high performing, scaling and innovative back-end applications and micro services in a cloud native environment.
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions
Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Drive code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
Understand performance parameters and assess application performance
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Engineering or circuit branches (Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics & Communications) with 8-10 years of relevant experience in Object oriented design/development, design patterns, enterprise integration patterns, database tools and back-end technologies
Hands-on expert who can code, architect/design systems and understand building highly available and scalable micro services on cloud infrastructure.
Experience in event stream processing and messaging using Kafka, JMS
Should have experience working hands-on with Java/J2EE, SpringBoot, Service registry, Container architecture, Kafka, Apache camel, Distributed caching, No SQL DB like Cassandra, Couchbase DB Mongo DB, PostgreSQL.
Very good understanding of Containers and Container Orchestration Technology such as Docker / Kubernetes and Cloud Platforms exposure like AWS, Azure, GCP.
Strong understanding of Rest APIs, Integration, NoSQL and RDBMS, Distributed Messaging, Security, Cloud Infrastructure, Performance and Scalability Profiling, CI/CD
Professional experience working with Agile Methodologies is required.
Experience working with DevSecOps principles, practices and tools in an enterprise technology environment is required.
Working knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines and practicing Test Driven Development is a requirement.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability for prod issues with experience in interacting with business stakeholders
