The Role:
As our new Senior Software Engineer in Test colleague, we are looking for a dynamic, open-minded and forward-thinking Engineer who wants to make an impact within the Digital TV / media and broadcast industry by validating cutting-edge multi-media software. We act fast, agile and strive for the best solutions.
Every day brings a new technical challenge where you are expected to make a direct impact. You will be involved in the automation testing of new features and updates for the middleware products which are actively used by more than 50+ million households globally for our customers. You get to make decisions on which tools and methodologies will be used to get to the best result. There is also a vast amount of training opportunities available and support from the friendly and knowledgeable team to continue to grow as a technical professional.
Your mission at Irdeto:
• Review the product specifications and functional requirements documents.
• Define the test strategy and required test infrastructure for the product.
• Design the test procedures (test scripts) for mainly automated testing (very little manual testing involved).
• Test execution on Sanity, Regression, Functional, and Performance Testing.
• Analyze, reproduce and report software defects and special situations.
• Ensure that the test results are recorded in accordance with specified Irdeto standards.
• Manage the reported defect resolution process with the appropriate Managers in the software development team.
• Frequent liaison with customer services and/or other Irdeto departments.
• Working closely with the Product team you will gain a strong understanding of our customers’ needs and get involved in improvements of Irdeto’s middleware product.
• You will work with other colleagues on these technical challenges and interface daily with some of our technical teams abroad to ensure product quality.
• You will also be expected to follow the scrum process.
How can you add value to the team?
• You have obtained a Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
• You bring at least 4+ year's experience in professional software testing experience.
• You have experience with automated testing.
• Experience in writing test scripts in Python or Selenium would be desirable
• Good knowledge in continuous integration (Git, GilLab, Docker, Jenkins, Swarm...)
• Good knowledge in network basics (TCP IP, …)
• You have experience in defining test strategy.
• You have experience with defects tracking system.
• You are familiar with the Agile Scrum development process.
• You have proficient verbal and written English skills.
• You thrive working in an international, fast-paced technology-driven environment.
