Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Building and optimizing APIs that enable seamless interaction between our AI agents, data sources, and user interfaces.

• Working closely with our AI/ML engineers to integrate cutting-edge models and ensure efficient data flow for agent performance.

• Implementing robust data storage solutions, leveraging both structured and analytical databases to support our legal intelligence platform.

• Ensuring the security, scalability, and cost-efficiency of our cloud infrastructure on AWS.

• Contributing to architectural decisions, system design, and best practices for our backend ecosystem.

• Participating in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of our services.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional work experience developing production-level Node.js/TypeScript backends.

• Strong experience with structured DBMSs like PostgreSQL and OLAP databases like Redshift.

• Strong understanding and practical experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and Elasticache.

• Experience working with telemetry, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) pipelines.

• Comfortable working within US time zones to collaborate effectively with our distributed team.

• Past experience with OpenAI APIs for completions, function calling, and building context-aware assistants.

• Past experience with Go routines.

• Experience building multi-agent systems using frameworks like CrewAI or similar.

• Strong sense of cost optimization strategies, excellent system design capabilities, and a proven track record of building efficient API stacks.
