Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities and Duties: Scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speed and quality. Develop multi-tier, scalable, high-volume, performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24/7. Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs. Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity. Work closely with product owners to understand, analyse product requirements, provide feedback, and deliver a complete solution. Technical leadership of software design in meeting the requirements of service stability, reliability, scalability, and security Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration. Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, or mathematics, or equivalent experience. 5 to 10 years of highly technical, hands-on software engineering experience. Expert in Java. Proficiency in other languages like Rust, Go, Python, and NodeJS is a plus. Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at a large scale. Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Strong, creative problem-solving skills and the ability to abstract and share details to create meaningful articulation. Proficient in the design and implementation of microservices-based, API/Endpoint architectures Strong background in designing and developing event-based / pub-sub workflows & data ingestion solutions. Proficiency and hands-on experience with Kafka at scale (or similar) are desired. Strong background in transactional databases and good understanding and experience with NoSQL datastores. Organised and goal-focused, ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
