Senior Software Engineer

As a successful candidate you will join a highly skilled Development team working closely with your Product Owner to deliver working software continuously using Agile methodology and other Agile processes. You will also be a vital part of the wider engineering team at IRIS.

You will use your experience to enhance the products with which you work, drive them forward using the latest technologies and best practices whilst also as maintaining an existing code base to ensure continuing compliance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a tech-savvy IT professional to become a key member of our innovate Engineering team. As part of the Engineering team you will get exposure to the latest technologies, working in a fast moving environment where no two days are the same. Your primary focus will be performing engineering activities with your team (planning, designing, estimating, developing, testing, deploying and supporting) through all stages of our software development lifecycle.

Working in the multi-disciplined DevOps team, you will work on new developments as well as diagnose, troubleshoot and bug fix issues identified by our users.

Main Responsibilities :

· Investigating and resolving issues and bugs

· Writing new code, developing new features and maintaining systems.

· Developing enhancements to existing features

· Investigate new technologies.

· You’ll be able to adjust quickly to changes in priorities and help resolve complex problems.

Must Have:

· Advanced skills in a wide range of programming languages (C#, Node js)

· Good front end experience in a mainstream JS framework (React, Angular, Vue)

· Extensive experience of APIs and Web services

· Excellent understanding of Microservice architectures

· Strong back end and Database skills (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

· Extensive experience of cloud SaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

· Experience with test automation software (xUnit, Mocha, Postman)

· Advanced knowledge of GIT

· Strong knowledge of CI/CD systems & pipelines (Jenkins, Teamcity, Etc.)

· Experience mentoring and leading technical sessions

· Strong foundations in security considerations

· Excellent communication skills

· Experience working in an Agile software development environment

· Solid object orientated programming knowledge and knowledge of software architectural patterns (MVC, MVVM
