Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role- This position entails a technical role as an individual contributor, with the key responsibility of conceiving and crafting expansive distributed applications designed to operate at scale. These applications are expected to smoothly accommodate numerous internal tenants within PayPal. Additionally, these components interface with a range of microservices within the PayPal ecosystem. The person occupying this role will play a pivotal part in exploring forward-looking possibilities by leveraging cutting-edge technologies both on-premises and in the cloud. Moreover, they will collaborate closely with a cadre of brilliant individuals, including seasoned architects, engineers, product owners, and colleagues from various engineering segments within the Payments Engineering organization. Meet our team- The Payments Engineering department is in charge of constructing and sustaining PayPal's payments platform, characterized by its exceptional scalability, availability, security, and adherence to regulations. This platform serves to facilitate the movement and administration of finances for both PayPal's users and merchants. The current position pertains to the Payments Planning team, an integral component of the broader Payments platform team. The primary responsibility of this planning team is to formulate optimal funding and disbursement strategies tailored to the needs of our consumers and merchants.

Your day to day-
• Develops efficient, elegant, clean, reusable code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction.
• Deliver quality solutions on schedule;
• Works with business partners to understand the requirements and develop elegant reusable solutions/code.
• Create / Review well-articulated, detailed low level design documents;
• Presents issues and solutions to audiences of varying sizes. Provides recognized technical and business leadership and is able to provide deep technical support across a range of functionality.
• Manages workload and other assignments efficiently while being able to resolve time-critical situations reliably and professionally.
• Participates in the development of tools, systems and processes aimed at improving product supportability or overall support productivity.
• Mentors other engineers and developers by providing technical and business related guidance and resources
What Do You Need To Bring-
• 5+ years of Hands-on experience in designing, developing and testing high traffic backend services, with low latency and designing them for scale.
• Experience in designing large scale distributed data systems considering scalability, reliability, security, performance, and flexibility.
• Deep understanding of and extensive experience applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles.
• Agile development process and SCRUM process.
Must Have Experience-
• Experience developing large scale enterprise applications, primarily with JAVA, Spring boot
• Experience with REST API’s, Web Services, Unit Testing and build tools.
• Candidate must have good problem solving skills.
• Experience in distributed data processing and data analysis, and distributed messaging systems such as Kafka Experience using industry standard software development tools (IDE / Version Control / Continuous Integration)
Desired Experience -
• Exposure on reactive programming (Rx Java/Project reactors).
• Exposure on RDBMS & noSQL DB.
