Product managers are home to technical experts who work together to design and build our software and product roadmap, whereas our QA team is constantly aimed at enhancing the quality of our platform delivery through test methodologies for implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
Team and Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with the Front Office group, which is responsible for the behavior of complex structured derivatives and fixed-income cash products throughout the platform, and additionally responsible for several cross-asset front office tools and UI frameworks. • Use Java and microservices to design and develop interfaces
• Design, develop and implement new features in the company's commercial software system, and improve existing ones
• Create automated integration and unit tests for assigned projects
• Work with Product Management to understand product specifications
• Review code and designs, providing engineering mentorship to team members
• Work in close liaison with the Quality Assurance team and Technical Publications team, ensuring product quality and accurate customer documentation
• Provide recommendations and help improve development tools and processes Skills And Requirements
• Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial Java software development
• BTech, BS or higher in computer science or related field
• Working knowledge of Swing, JavaFX, Angular or other UI toolkits
• Excellent object-oriented analysis, design & development skills
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with Oracle
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills and an ability to work both independently and in a small team
• Familiarity with distributed systems (Nice to have)
• Exposure to capital markets trading platforms will be a plus
