Within the VxWorks Operating Systems team, we innovate on technologies that will modernize the embedded VxWorks operating system and our Hypervisor solution to enable our Edge Device customers. We are looking for experienced and high-performing individuals that can learn and contribute to these technologies and help Wind River build out our Edge Device offerings.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The VxWorks and Helix products use the LLVM compiler to support C and C++ and the VxWorks product also supports Rust. Supporting these languages also involves support for standard libraries. Your contribution in this role will impact the delivery of the VxWorks product. You will engineer and drive solutions and tools to deploy compiler updates quickly and with quality for these core Wind River products.
Interface & Collaboration
Working in the VxWorks team, you will collaborate with other members of the team and with the compiler team.
Responsibilities
Driving the compiler toolchain integration for VxWorks product, prioritizing, and debugging build and integration issues.
Developing tools and processes to decrease integration time and working with other team members to solve integration issues.
Develop tools and processes to automate toolchain validation and streamline the delivery process.
Working with the open-source community to make improvements to the LLVM toolchain.
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
Experience in systems development and/or embedded systems development.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of PowerPC/ARM/Intel/RISC-V architecture is a plus.
Knowledge of Real Time Embedded Operating System is a plus.
Knowledge of compiler development or LLVM internals is a major plus.
Qualifications
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
5+ years of industry systems development experience
Strong C/C++ programming experience
Assembly language experience is a plus
