Meet Our Team:
The Live team works on building a state-of-the-art ecosystem for ingesting, orchestrating, delivering, and operating Warner Bros. Discovery’s live programming around the world.
As a Software Engineer, you will assume a technical leadership role on the team and work with Product and Engineering across geographies to deliver on new product features, initiatives, and integrations. With your deep technical knowledge, you will develop solutions to complex problems, drive operational excellence, and champion best practices to deliver in-house product solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Take complete ownership and accountability of feature requirements from conception till delivery and continue to manage, sustain and optimize the system.
• Collaborate with the product, business, design and engineering functions to be on top of your team's deliverables & milestones.
• Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs.
• Implement software components across the Live organization.
• Deliver highly reliable and scalable engineering architecture, and high quality, maintainable and operationally excellent code for your team.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews
What to Bring:
• 5 - 8years of experience developing scalable software using microservices
• Experience in backend and frontend software development, ranging from building micro services and event driven architectures/solutions to customer-facing UI.
• Experience in private and public API design and cross-service integrations.
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, design patterns, building maintainable code, performance)
• Familiarity with a range of database technologies, encompassing both SQL and NoSQL options.
• Usage and deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, Kubernetes, Kafka and AWS services
• Experience building, operating, and owning services. Implementing operational excellence mechanisms, runbooks, and best practices including alerting, metrics, and logging using CloudWatch, PagerDuty, etc.
• Ability to work with minimal instructions on day-to-day work, able to consume and self-start with general instructions on new assignments.
