What Will You Do
You'll be part of a highly skilled distributed team that is responsible for developing and supporting BV's content storage. The system is a highly scalable, multi-datacenter, globally distributed JSON datastore system built on top of Apache Cassandra and Kafka. It offers global consistent snapshots and a built-in streaming data platform that powers billions of requests per day serving our user-generated content. We are interested in engineers who are hands-on and willing to dig into tough problems. We love people who are willing to explore new areas, learn quickly, and apply their skills to challenging issues.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver improvements to content storage systems by working with product owners, develops, devops and QA to understand the needs of our customers.
Design, code and review changes - applying an end-to-end quality mindset to ensure the highest degree of stability and performance.
Required Skills
What Do We Want:
4 or more years’ experience with content storage in distributed databases(Big Data)
Expert knowledge in Java and Apache Cassandra
Demonstrated experience with Kafka
Experience with SQL-like RDBMS (eg: mySQL, Postgres, Oracle)
Exceptional experience working within cloud technologies such as AWS
Desired Skills
Understanding of Python or other scripting languages
Ability to collaborate with others
Desire to grow and take ownership of work
Aren't afraid to take on less glamorous work if it helps the team accomplish their mission
Experience with Agile or Kanban / Lean software development methodologies
Educational Qualifications
B.E/ B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent
