Job Description
A leading biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, data scientists, and software engineers in support of its ambitious internal and partnered drug discovery programs. The company is using cutting-edge AI to rapidly engineer novel, life-enhancing biotherapeutics. The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in building tools and services to automate experiments and process scientific data at scale.
Responsibilities Include:
• Collaborating with Data Scientists to productionize the company’s AI-driven drug discovery platform.
• Leading the design and development of software solutions that help laboratory scientists generate high-quality experimental results.
• Configuring, maintaining, and building integrations for laboratory information management systems.
• Working closely with lab and data scientists to understand their challenges and offer effective software solutions.
• Using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to deploy, manage, and secure applications and data.
• Maintaining and improving software quality, following best practices in testing, code review, security, documentation, and architecture.
Skills and experience:
• Proven experience developing Python applications in a production environment.
• Experience building and maintaining continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with building user interfaces (UIs) using React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Strong data handling and analysis skills.
• Background or experience in a scientific field, with a degree or equivalent experience in a related area.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage individual workloads while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Strong mentoring skills with experience guiding other engineers.
• Eagerness to learn about molecular biology, protein engineering, and automation to enhance effectiveness in the role.
