Market Data Platform Engineer — Real-Time Systems
About The Team
We build and operate the core market-data platform behind real-time trading, analytics, risk, and compliance. Our systems process hundreds of billions of unique events each day, publish updates in real time, and serve millions of time-series queries with strict reliability and latency goals. The team spans software engineering, platform performance, capacity planning, systems recovery, and automation across global hubs.
How We Think
Our vision: elastic compute and capacity with resilient coverage. Our mission: organize fleet and environment to unlock virtually unlimited production scale. We align to engineering standards, value evidence-based decisions, and automate for business continuity, test platforms, and fast issue containment. Reliability principles guide everything we ship.
What You’ll Do
• Work hands-on with large-scale, real-time market-data systems.
• Design and develop predictive models and signals for capacity and performance.
• Participate in fleet governance and orchestrate lifecycle events at scale.
• Build metrics, alerts, and automated remediation for early issue detection.
• Help define standards and partner with engineers to ensure products meet them.
Your Day-to-Day
• Code: Ship production-quality tools and services—from debuggers and instrumentation to dashboards for load/latency—and enable self-service and incident response.
• Design: Create consistent interfaces and automated workflows; ensure new features are production-ready to lower operational load.
• Analyze: Model system behavior, assess change impact before rollout, and diagnose unexpected production issues.
What We’re Looking For
• 4+ years with an object-oriented language (Python, C/C++, or Java).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments and with developer tooling.
• Familiarity with test frameworks (e.g., pytest, gtest).
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving production issues.
• Solid understanding of large-scale systems architecture and strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
• Exposure to market-data distribution architectures.
• Experience with virtualized/containerized stacks and orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Salt).
• Background in rapid prototyping and platform automation.
Why This Role
The infrastructure you build is mission-critical to the global financial ecosystem. Your work will shape platform architecture, improve data accuracy and availability, and deliver reliability at a scale few organizations attempt.
Compensation
Salary Range: $160,000 – $240,000 USD annually, plus benefits and bonus.
Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, market conditions, education, and skill level.
