Reaxys is a comprehensive and powerful cloud hosted and deep-tech data searching tool that is used by thousands of chemists, researchers, and students throughout the world to retrieve chemistry patents, chemical reactions, substance data and other related chemistry information using a highly performant chemical structure search engine. Reaxys can be searched using natural language, drawn chemical structures, formula, physical property parameters and more. Our team consists of chemists, cheminformaticians, bioinformaticians, data scientists and software engineers.
About the Role
The Reaxys team is searching for an experienced Software Engineer who has interest or has a work/research experience in contributing to database-based query processors.

Our diverse team stretches across China, India, Europe, the UK and the US and relies on a well-developed network of industry leaders – partners and suppliers.
The Reaxys team has flexible working opportunities and this position is based in Bengaluru, India where you will be working with Indian and European teams of experienced professionals from diverse background.
Responsibilities
Taking ownership and development of a Data Abstraction Layer.
Developing and optimizing query translation between diverse database systems.
Architecting and developing distributed systems over Kubernetes.
Writing code and automated tests to match detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
Participating and leading the discussions in your area of expertise.
Sharing knowledge and mentoring other members in your area of expertise.
Requirements
Have around 7 years of Software Engineering and minimum 5 years of Java experience.
Experience of working with OData, Apache Calcite, Spring JPA or other ER frameworks.
Have proven ability to strategize and learn different software frameworks and technologies.
Have research or working experience with any of the database systems.
Experience of developing and managing REST based Java Web Service.
Have fluent oral and written English along with the ability to communicate complex topic to non-technology stakeholders.
