Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will assist in the architecting and building of scalable user experiences
You will take end-to-end ownership of building new features that will directly impact millions of customers who care for their furry family members every day
You will help drive innovation, scalability, and maintainability while providing mentorship and partnering with other highly skilled engineering teams
Above all, you will gain the trust and confidence of those around you, from hands-on engineers to executives
Design, develop and implement large scale distributed systems with large volumes of data focusing on scalability, latency and fault tolerance
Architect, build, deploy and scale frontend Payments Single Page Applications
Communicate project status, risks, and solutions to team and customers, and act as technical point of contact to customers, taking responsibility and ownership of project timelines and work
Develop Systems / Component architectures and APIs for a rapidly scaling platform, while ensuring successful product delivery and operational excellence
Pursue engineering excellence, leading platform level initiatives such as Kubernetes migration, building true CI/CD pipelines and refactoring our applications into a true Payments as a Service implementation
Own and operationalize the critical metrics for Payments, building industry leading telemetry/logging to settle state and health for the applications you own
Lead research and initiatives for cloud native designs and implementation within public clouds, primarily AWS
Build enterprise architecture and contribute to coding standards (scalable, performant, readable, and tested code) and ensure your code reviews set the bar for the rest of the team
Display excellent verbal and written communication and be able to convey dissenting opinions in a constructive manner, particularly written communications
Promote mentorship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams

The Payments Engineering Team is seeking a hardworking and motivated Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (React and Java) in Boston, MA. Your Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will assist in the architecting and building of scalable user experiences. What You’ll Do:

• Experience in e-commerce and/or Healthcare
• Experience with accessibility testing
• Experience in building scalable apps in React, Java and AWS (or similar cloud platforms)
• Experience with Cucumber, Playwright, Cypress, Gatling or similar automated testing tools
