Responsibilities & Qualifications
Position Summery
The Sr. Software Engineer position is responsible for writing application code to contribute to the full lifecycle of development from concept to post-production support and maintenance of server / OS / desktop / web / mobile applications and services. This position will develop application code, contribute to version-controlled source code repositories and will managed assigned tasks to create measurable value and deliver software to market using industry recognized agile methodologies and best practices. The Senior Developer will be responsible for coding according to prescribed standards and guidelines set forth by the architects and leadership teams and must demonstrate quality, brevity and timeliness in all deliverables.
A Day in the Life
• Build robust and scalable software systems to support high traffic SaaS-based websites.
• Enhancing code up and down the software stack.
• Practice agile development methodologies with 2-week development sprints using best software development practices and processes including testing, code reviews, and post-deployment monitoring.

• You've been building web applications professionally for 5+ years using PHP and frameworks, Zend Framework preferred
• You have experience with other functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., Python, Java, Ruby or Go
• You can demonstrate a thorough understanding of OOP, SOLID, encapsulation, and SOA
• You have 3 years’ experience with SQL
• You have 3 years’ experience with any Linux OS
• You can contribute to technical architecture discussions
• You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards scalability and maintainability
• You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you
• You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval
• You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
