Your Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer who can help drive and scale this mission; a Jack of All Trades in the DevOps landscape – capable of building, deploy, scaling and running processes and systems to support, configuration, optimization, and operations Thingworx IOT Applications.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated problem solver, a real team player capable of collaborating in a fast paced DevOps environment as well capable of working very independently with a high level of self-motivation.
This position requires both the technical “hands-on” experience of Linux OS administration, DevOPs processes and procedure (CI/CD tools, build tools, infrastructure automation and test automation) and experience, Scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure Cloud, PaaS Platform Management along with leadership capability necessary to analyze, recommend, plan, implement, and manage our various systems.
Your Team
Candidate will be part of ThingWorx R&D App DevOps team based in Pune office reporting to the DevOps manager and works closely with several globally distributed teams and individuals.
Your team is contributor to the end-to-end DevOps pipeline seamlessly delivering mature and tested Application Developed on top of Thingworx Platform to our customers and make cloud ready.
Your Day-to-Day
• Participate in Agile processes including daily standup meetings, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, etc.
• Be an active part of a Continuous Integration culture
• Architect, Design , Develop CI / CD automation pipelines
• Focus on Performance/Scalability, DevOps, Software Reliability Engineering, Integrations while defining Architecture.
• Come up with solution for automation of process software code for new architecture.
• Improving the efficiency of operations through virtualization and automation of systems
• Interact with other Infrastructure operations to ensure proper monitoring, backup/restore, alerting and space of the environments
• Responsible for the “Health” of the applications, including proper monitoring, maintenance, and patching/upgrade
• Keep documentation up to date with operational procedures by supported application
• Provides application support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and information gathering for our applications
• Coordinates the inventory of software in collaboration with management and other resources
Required Skills
• 3+ years of experience
• Excellent problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidate must be eager to learn and go extra mile to learn and think different
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, including scripting (shell/python),
• Strong background in Docker Containers, Kubernetes and Helm
• Experienced user of one or more source code management tools like Git / Bit Bucket / GitLab / SVN
• Experience with maven/ gradle / ant
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools like GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar
• Experience with Artifact Repository Managers (Artifactory)
• Experience and expertise in setting up code analysis tools like SonarQube / Check style / PMD / Find bugs
• Experience with Alerting and monitoring tools (Prometheus / Grafana / SumoLogic)
• Experience with automation and configuration tools (Ansible/Chef/Puppet)
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience of Azure, other Public Cloud Provider.
• Experience with Cloud based Network Security ((firewall configs, HTTPS/TLS, Network Security Groups certificates)
• Skills in RESTful APIs.
• Obsessive desire to automate and improve everything.
• Familiar Infrastructure-as-Code technology, Ideally Ansible and Cloud Formation/ARM/Terraform
• Flexibility to work out of normal working hours as and when required
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• “Can do” attitude is a must.
