What you will be doing
This role is for a Lead Engineer for one of the teams in our expanding Data Engineering group. You and the team will be responsible for the delivery of the Data Ingestion component of our Enterprise Data Pipeline. This group is also at the forefront of the organizational transformation to Agile development frameworks and pioneering the use of CI/CD pipelines.
What you bring to the group
Trust and Empathy as an experienced servant leader ideally having lead a remote team or teams. Our engineering team is distributed around the United States and we promote remote-first employment opportunities.
Engineering lead experience with a track record of shipping scalable data solutions. We deal in TBs of data deliverables with PBs of data as our backbone.
Strong knowledge and experience with software engineering principles and patterns.
Experience working with Public Cloud (Amazon Redshift), Hybrid(Cloudera CDP), and On-Prem data systems (Oracle 1+ Exadata).
Strong business acumen and a desire to understand the data domains that support our business partners and clients.
What we hope you also bring to the group
Strong knowledge of at least one software programming language. We primarily use Python, Spark and Go.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD patterns and practices. We use GitLab as our tool for CI/CD.
Strong knowledge of testing practices and principles.
Experience working in an Agile development environment. This team is currently using Scrum.
Strong knowledge of Data Engineering principles and practices.
Comfortable with supporting a production outage at any time of the day.
Knowledge of event driven and API engineering.
7-10 years of experience in software engineering.
