The Salesforce Release Manager plays a key role managing and coordinating the release process of Salesforce applications supporting IT Cell Therapy owned the BMS Global Patient Services team. The Release Manager coordinates with developers and with quality assurance, to plan, coordinate and execute the release process. This includes managing the scope of the release, influencing release timelines, and managing dependencies and data migrations. This includes coordinating with quality assurance to ensure test coverage, artifact creation required of GxP applications and managing the release of hotfixes when necessary. Desired Candidate Characteristics: • Have a strong commitment to a career in technology with a passion for healthcare • Ability to understand the needs of the business and commitment to deliver the best user experience and adoption • Able to collaborate across multiple teams • Demonstrated leadership experience • Excellent communication skills • Innovative and inquisitive nature to ask questions, offer bold ideas and challenge the status quo • Agility to learn new tools and processes Key Responsibilities • Managing the release process of GPS Salesforce applications using various tools, such as Flosum, Jenkins, ANT / Force.com Migration Tool, and Change Sets. • Manage and automate the release management process, including version control, branching, merging, and deployment. This involves creating and managing release packages, tracking changes, and ensuring that all changes are properly documented. • Automate the build and deployment of Salesforce applications. This includes configuring Flosum (or any other tool supporting Salesforce CI/CD) jobs to build and deploy applications, managing dependencies, and scheduling builds and deployments. • ANT / Force.com Migration Tool to manage the deployment of metadata between Salesforce environments. This involves creating deployment packages, validating deployments, and rolling back deployments when necessary. • Use Change Sets to deploy changes between Salesforce environments, including from sandbox to production. Validating deployments as necessary and tracking changes. • Bitbucket or any other Git tools to manage source code repository and conflict resolution between different branches. • Coordination with Test specialist and QA to ensure that all releases are thoroughly tested using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, and other testing frameworks. • Use ALM or similar tools to author and execute deployment / data migration scripts. Qualifications & Experience • The Salesforce Release Manager must have a range of technical skills and certifications to effectively manage the release process of Salesforce applications. • Strong technical skills in Salesforce development, including Salesforce Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, SOQL, and SOSL. • Experience in Salesforce integrations with external systems, such as ERP, marketing automation, and other third-party applications. • Experience in managing and automating the release process using tools such as Flosum, Jenkins, ANT/Force.com Migration Tool, and Change Sets. • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools, such as JIRA. • Strong understanding of Salesforce security features and best practices, including role hierarchy, profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules. • Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator, and Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder. • Knowledge of testing frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, and other testing frameworks. • Experience in managing change processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams. • Requires thorough knowledge of the principles and concepts of a discipline and developed knowledge of other related disciplines, typically gained through a university degree and 4-6 years of experience. Works predominately within established procedures. Actively participates in troubleshooting of routine problems. Makes decisions that impact own work and other groups/teams. Works under minimal supervision. May act as a technical point of contact. May represent team or function on program or project teams. • Does not have any supervisory responsibility, however, may act as a functional mentor to more junior team members. • Identifies key influencers and builds a network of internal/external relationships. Persuades and negotiate effectively with peers and customers on own work outcomes. • Makes decisions while understanding the team's work and how it fits into the broader enterprise. May need support from within the team or outside the team when working on broader or complex topics in understanding environment. • Identifies opportunities to improve and grow, balancing performance feedback and career development • Applies a continuous improvement mindset in enhancing efficiency, quality and effectiveness or their work outputs. • Displays understanding of performance metrics driving the team's goals and questions the external environment and its' implication on the goals and strategies. • Able to review multiple factors of data and can effectively organize information to compare and assess short and long-term implications.
