The Position Job Description Position Title: Senior Software Engineer Location: Chennai & Hyderabad Reporting : Manager - Technology Years of Relevant Experience: 4-8 years Who we are Roche has established Global Analytics and Technology Center of Excellence (GATE) in India to drive analytics & technology driven solutions by partnering with Roche affiliates across the globe Key Responsibilities As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders in the business teams across Roche's global affiliates and deliver high quality technical and architectural solutions to real-world business problems. You will be required to design and develop robust data models, data pipelines and data products. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: Work closely with the business stakeholders to define the project objectives and scope Lead the team and stakeholder discussions, act as thought partner and provide them with high quality solutions and recommendations Develop presentations to communicate key insights, recommendations to the stakeholders Understand the stakeholder needs, prioritize and manage the day to day tasks accordingly Work on multiple projects simultaneously depending on the requirements Motivate, mentor and coach the junior members on the team and help them grow Conduct training programs to develop subject matter expertise in the team Be involved in the decision making and make significant contributions across key initiatives to help grow the GATE team Required Experience, Skills, Qualification 5+ years of experience in programming with Python. Strong proficiency in Python 3+ years of Hands on experience in developing data pipelines using PySpark on AWS EMR Good understanding of Spark's Data Frame Experience of dealing with AWS S3 object storage from Spark Experience in trouble shooting spark jobs. Knowledge of monitoring spark jobs using Spark UI Performance tuning of Spark jobs Knowledge of scheduling spark applications in Airflow Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of GIT based products (GitHub, BitBucket) Experience in workflow and collaboration tool such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence Strong articulation and stakeholder management skills Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to and fielding questions from stakeholders Strong work ethic coupled with high motivation and a go-getter attitude Experience of setting up continuous integration/deployment of spark jobs to EMR clusters Working knowledge of BI tools such as QlikView, Tableau, Alteryx, etc Familiarity with working on an Agile/Iterative development framework Education Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science/ IT/ Computer Applications/ Software engineering/ Electronics Who we are At Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
