About The Job
We are looking for a senior Ruby on Rails developer who is enthusiastic about writing clean, efficient, and accessible code in a cross-functional framework Committed to the total development lifecycle, the maintenance of code quality and bug-free applications is of the utmost importance.
What You’ll Be Doing (responsibilities)
• Drive and own end-to-end delivery of innovative and performant features into the next-generation software applications.
• Practice and inspire other engineers to apply deep knowledge of computer science & programming principles to build innovative solutions.
• Build and track quality into agile product lifecycle encompassing requirements, design, code, testing, delivery, and support.
• Enable and write clear maintainable solutions that scale, adhere to/improve/augment existing standards.
• Working in a professional software engineering environment (source control, shortened release cycles, continuous integration, and deployment, etc.).
• Understand and socialize company goals, and metrics and align with the team’s technical goals.
• Advise product owners and UX on what’s feasible technically, a partner in user requirements translation to technical specifications. Participate in product planning sessions as a technical SME.
• Support, identify and fix root causes of production incidents, and own troubleshooting and resolution of production issues across teams.
• Own discovery, solutioning, monitoring, incident resolution – imbibe and socialize DevOps mindset.
• Work closely with the engineering lead to plan and prioritize the business needs.
• Driver in continuous improvement processes through metrics and feedback.
• Instill a culture of constant learning and staying relevant with trends in technology across engineers and management.
Requirements
What you need
• 5-8 Years of software engineering experience including 5 years of extensive experience of Ruby on Rails Framework along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque.
• At least 5 years of experience in working with RDS [MySQL or PostgreSQL]
• Minimum 3 years of experience working on Service Oriented Architecture and Micro-services on any cloud platform [AWS, Azure or GCP].
• Experience in Dockerization and Containerization
• Should possess DevOps mindset – 3+ years’ experience of working in a mature CI/CD, SDLC environment, implemented exception handling, logging, monitoring, performance measurement, and operational metrics knowledge.
• Expert in object Oriented Programming OOP concepts using Ruby.
• Advance understanding of Ruby on Rails and it's ecosystem
• Expert in making progress and examining using object-oriented models and MVC practices.
• Sound Understanding of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, SQL, web programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Should have good experience in system study, preparation of detailed design docs, performing and monitoring development/coding, unit testing and system & integration testing of the applications.
• Experience in working in Agile framework.
• Strong communication, partnership, teamwork, and influencing skills required
• Self-starter, collaborative team player, and desire to mentor other members of the team.
