What you’ll do

You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, high-traffic backend systems for the Woolworths online platform that supports millions of weekly active users across Australia & New Zealand. This role is within the Plan and Shop domain with a squad that focuses on building healthy tech foundations.

Work collaboratively with architects, technical leads, UX, product owners and analysts in an Agile environment and provide guidance throughout the process.
Participate in the technical delivery of the squad, from designing solutions to deploying them and ensuring correct operation.
Architect, design and lead the implementation of reusable libraries across the product and organisation whilst actively contributing to our DevOps processes around CI/CD practices and tools.
Continuously improve our processes and train and coach more junior development team members on UI development engineering best practices.
Working with API services and related microservices and performing improvement and optimisation

What you’ll bring

As an experienced Engineer you will have previous experience supporting as a Platform and Software Engineer. This role will be a mix of roughly 60% platform Engineering and 40% API Development

Experience with cloud-based infrastructure automation, preferentially Azure automation including Event streaming, service bus or message queues (Azure Event Hubs/Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar)
Strong experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation
Working with Docker containers & Terraform pipelines
Strong experience in NodeJS,Typescript and GraphQL and experience with .Net is advantageous
Solid experience with REST APIs and understanding of web security (OWASP TOP10, etc.)
